What is a redirect chain?
A redirect chain occurs when a URL redirects to another URL, which then redirects to another URL, and so on. Example: A → B → C. Direct redirects (A → C) are preferable for performance and SEO.
Why do redirect chains matter?
Each redirect adds latency (delay) to page load. Long chains can hurt user experience, mobile performance, and SEO rankings. Google prefers direct redirects.
What's the difference between 301 and 302 redirects?
